Maruti Suzuki Crosshiker With Futuristic Design : Mini SUV to Rival Renault Kwid

Maruti Suzuki is the manufacturer of the most popular cars in India. Maruti is all set to launch a new small car, named as ‘Crosshiker’, in India. Maruti Suzuki’s latest small car is under development aiming to challenge the Renault Kwid. The Suzuki Crosshiker Concept has made an appearance at the 2014 Sao Paulo International Motor Show after making its first previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 2013. The car is likely to be based on the Crosshiker concept which highlights the company’s futuristic design approach for mini crossovers. 

Maruti’s Crosshiker has an SUV-like upright design and a high ground clearance. Suzuki states that the mini SUV concept weighs just 810 kgs which comes with a 3-door concept, accentuated wheel arches, large alloy wheels and twin exhausts. Some of the expected specifications of the new Maruti Small Car Crosshiker are

1.            796cc 3 Cylinder MPFI; 999cc 3 Cylinder MPFI Engine

2.            Maximum power: 47.3 BHP; 67.1 BHP

3.            5-speed Transmission (Manual, AMT)

4.            69 Nm; 90 Nm Torque

5.            24.7 KMPL; 20 KMPL Mileage

The launch of the upcoming new Maruti small car is expected in mid-2018. According to a latest Autocar report, the small car will not be a replacement for the Alto, but it will be sold alongside the Alto.
